Summertime

We've had a busy few weekends!! Lea came down to babysit so Cameron and I could attend the Military's Birthday Ball. It was fun to have a night out and to meet some of the guys in his class and their wives. I am so appreciative Lea could come babysit so we could go to this!!
It has been extremely hot here so we haven't been playing outside or even at the pool all that much. We've probably been watching more TV than we should. David is already learning how much he enjoys TV.  He's been on a good nap schedule, but that also limits what we can do in the mornings. He will go down around 9-11ish and Presley still goes down for "rest time" around 1:30. Our window to get out is getting small, but thankfully they are both pretty easy going kids. I actually have him napping again usually for an hour or so while Presley is resting so mama is getting some good downtime in too!
We did go see a Dora play with one of our friends one day.  The kids both loved the show. It was really interactive and a fun, different activity.
Who doesn't love the ice cream man!?!
David is getting so big! He now rolls all over the floor and is starting to scoot a little. I am not too excited for him to crawl just yet, but it looks like he will be there soon. We did go in to get his weight re-checked and I'm pleased to say he gained a good amount. At 8 months, he weighs 16lbs, 7oz and is 26.7". His height grew by almost a full inch and a half and he gained a pound and a half! He's still in the 8th percentile for weight, but his height went from 13th to 26th. He is thriving, he's probably just going to be a smaller baby. He continues to eat his jars, rice cereal and yogurt during the day. I've tried giving him cheerios and noodles with butter, but he did not like any of it.
Here he is tearing up the paper at the doctor's appointment.
We went to Birmingham last weekend. Presley and Caden had a lot of fun together going to mall to ride the carousel and get treats.
It was also David's first carousel ride... you would have thought he'd done this before. He held right on to the bar and smiled.
Since we missed the fireworks at Fort Benning, we had our own show courtesy of Cameron and Craig. The kids loved it and even got to do their own sparklers and dixie pops.
We met Grandmom at Cracker Barrel before hitting the road home Sunday. We did have a fun BBQ for the Fourth back at our house with some friends and Lea and David came down too. We have another busy few weeks planned and are excited to see Rere this weekend!
