Presley's First Birthday

Presley turned 1 on Saturday! I cannot believe my little baby is already a year old...where does the time go? She has been such a blessing to our family- I cannot imagine our lives without her. I am so thankful that I get to stay home with her every day and watch her learn and grow.

We had a great party at our house to celebrate. I could not resist doing a pig-themed party (I PROMISE I will never do that to her again) but it was precious! All the Smith's helped decorate the house that morning and it looked wonderful. We were so happy Craig, Charelette, Caden, Grandmom, Rachel, Lea and David all flew in for the weekend. It would not have been the same without any of you. Thank you for making the trip! We had a blast and can't wait to do it again for Caden's birthday this summer.

I don't have many pictures from her actual party, but here's a few from the weekend. Thank you to everyone who came and celebrated with us. We are so blessed to have such wonderful family and friends who love Presley so much!

She's WALKING!!

She's been taking a few steps without holding on, but today she's really walking on her own a lot. All of a sudden, we will look over and she's in the middle of the room standing up. I love to watch her walk, though, cause she holds her hands out like Frankenstein... it's too funny! I finally got it on video!

Cameron let her listen to his headphones yesterday and she immediately started bobbing her head... too funny!

We are so excited to see all the family tomorrow morning!!

Swim Class

Presley had her first swim class today. We signed up with a bunch of our friends and had a blast today!! Since Emily started work this week, Alex signed up to take Liam in the pool. Presley loved "jumping" off the side and would clap for herself each time. I think she'll love the pool this summer, which makes me very happy!!

Here's also some recent pics. Presley and Phil have a love/hate relationship. He wants to be around her, but does not like when she touches him or squeals at his face. Marge (surprisingly) is very good with Presley...who would have thought?!?

Presley got an early birthday present from mommy and daddy- a new wagon! Cameron went ahead and put it together so we can use it with cousin Caden this weekend.

Super Chatty

I cannot believe that my baby is going to be 1 in two weeks! She is growing up so quickly and she really has changed a lot these past few months. She took a few steps without holding on to anyone last weekend!! She will definitely be walking soon. Her vocabulary is growing by the day! She can now say: fish, night night, dadda (her favorite word), mama, hi, bye, apple, dog dog, ball ball, uh-oh, and wow. I think wow is my favorite! She repeats so much of what we and her friends do. If you can't tell, I am loving being with her everyday and watching her grow. Here she is showing off her new words:

I always knew girls talked more than boys, I guess I didn't realize how young this starts. Presley talks a lot... in the middle of the night, first thing in the morning, pretty much all day. Guess she's got a lot to say!

Happy Easter

Well, Presley has started a not-so-great tradition of being sick on holidays...this goes back to when I was pregnant. I had to go to the hospital on Thanksgiving when I had kidney stones (due to my prenatal vitamins). Then, we were back in the ER on Halloween when Presley had the swine flue, followed by a double ear infection on Valentine's Day. Guess we should have realized Easter would be no different...Presley came down with a stomach bug on Saturday. She was so pitiful and literally sat in the rocking chair with me or Cameron all day. It was so sad to see her so not interested in playing or crawling. She felt a little better today, but still isn't back to her normal self. The Easter Bunny did surprise her this morning and she perked up at times today.

We put her in her dress for all of 5 minutes today to get a family picture after church.

We played at Mal and Dal's the rest of the afternoon with Emily, Nick, Liam, Ellyn, Lynn, Drew and Liz.


Since her birthday isn't a national holiday, we don't think she'll be sick for it in a few weeks....but we'll be praying! Hope everyone had a great Easter!
