David's milestones

David has grown up so much these past few months. As we approach his big 2 year old birthday, I wanted to note some big milestones in his life. I turned him front-facing in his car seat a few weeks ago. He really didn't mind being rear-facing for so long, partially because he could see Presley in the back seat and they both enjoyed talking and playing in the car. He loves front-facing, though. The first morning when I put him in, he just grinned and held on to the sides of his car seat. He loves that I can reach him now and loves to grin at me. He still points out all the momo's (motorcycles), school buses, dirt, rocks, big trucks, etc. that we see on our drives. Presley told him, "You're a big boy now!"
He is still Cameron's twin! He looks just like Cameron, especially on Saturdays when they both sport their Auburn gear to Dunkin Donuts. David goes with him every Saturday and Sunday to get coffee and donuts. He eats on glazed on the way home and another when he gets home. He is usually covered in glaze by the time he gets home. I have to clean his car seat way too often! He loves their tradition and loves when Cameron gets him out of his crib on the weekends cause he knows it means they're going "Bye Bye." The ladies at Dunkin also love him and he gets spoiled with free donuts holes and merchandise a lot! Whenever Cameron grills, David insists on sliding the door open and closed for him. He is Cameron's biggest helper. We call him the little doorman.
He loves the park and especially loves the big slides. I just let him go down these the past month. He knows he's such a big boy cause he would watch Presley do these all the time.
He is now counting very well and when we ask him how old he is, he'll say 2. He still loves to make us all laugh. His newest funny phrase when he says Thank You, he'll also say Welcome before you can. He thinks he's hilarious when he does this. He's talking so much more this past month and putting together some good phrases. He is eating pretty well. He still doesn't love meats, but he'll eat any type of fruit and most of the vegetables I make. I'm struggling with what dessert to make for his birthday cause he just doesn't like ice cream, cake, cupcakes.... none of it. He loves M and M's and will eat like half a cookie. I mean, what kid doesn't finish a cookie!?! He will probably get a donut for a cake cause that is by far his favorite treat!
He loves to pass out the pieces for CandyLand when we play and always give one for Daddy even when Daddy is at work.
He loves his choo choo from Dal! He will just watch it go around and around and loves to make it crash into his foot and various other objects he'll put on the tracks.
He loves to dress up in costumes and any type of shoes- probably because he sees Presley in her dress-up clothes so often. Here he is in Lightning McQueen race care uniform and slippers with a pumpkin hat on! You can tell he has an older sister because his love of dress-up and he knows Princess Belle. Well, he actually calls all her princesses Belle, but he always tries to play/throw the Barbies around.
He still loves any car, tractor, motorcycle, construction equipment and tanks. Whenever we're on post, he calls every tank, "Dada's tank." He loves to watch Cameron's tank videos from gunnery on his phone.
He loves to do anything and everything Presley does, and he thinks he can do it! Whether it's riding her bike or playing the computers at the library, he thinks and eventually does everything she does. Thankfully the computers are touch-screen so he really can play them at the library too. Gone are the days of me telling him he's too little.... he's so grown up and wants to be such a big kid!
His other HUGE milestone was giving up his pacifier (babu) this weekend. We took it away for his nap on Friday. He had a wubanub that broke and I kept it for some odd reason. Well, it came in handy. I told him that babu broke and still let him sleep with the doggie part of it. I don't know if it's better or worse that he kept the dog cause it makes him think of babu. He tells everyone repeatedly during the day that babu broke and even told Mal and Dal on Facetime. He isn't screaming or crying about it, though, so hopefully it's not as traumatic as I was thinking it might be. He was very attached to his babu, and it breaks my heart to take it from him, but I know it's for the best. I can't believe how big he is getting! His birthday will be here before we know it. I love you, my wild man!

I had to catch up on the last few blogs. They are all growing so fast and remain beautiful and brilliant. I can't wait to see them in a few weeks. Hard to believe David is almost 2. I love how boyish he is but still loves to dress up. You two are such great parents. They are lucky children. Love to all!
