Christmastime

Our kids have caught the Christmas spirit this year BIG time! They are obsessed- want the tree lit all day, every day, want to listen to Christmas songs, want to watch the Reindeer cam... the list goes on and on. They are so excited for Christmas and it's been so much fun getting in the spirit with them.
They have really enjoyed watching Christmas shows at night. Their favorites are Rudolph, Santa Claus is coming to town and Mickey's Christmas.
Our weather has been so nice, still not too cold and we've been playing outside a lot.
They have appeased me (well David at least) by making some Christmas paintings. We made wreaths one day and hand print Christmas canvasses for me to keep. I love them all!
David's homework one week was to make cookies with mommy. He was so excited to be able to do "everything" as he said.  I'm so glad we were able to do this one on one. We don't get to do a lot of activities just us so presley was our photographer and we had a great time.
The chef was pleased with the results!
We have been helping Presley's teacher after school. Anna enjoyed playing in her classroom and just being with Presley in general.
Presley had her ballet recital this past weekend- two performances of the nutcracker. She did a great job and was so excited to be performing.
Anna chose to sit with Mark for the recital.
That afternoon, we went to Winterfrest on post. It was a really cute setup.
Riding the train
Everyone wanted to do sit-ups with Dada
Eating their giant cookies from Sam and Mark
 Performance #2
Snuggling one night watching a Christmas show.
Presley also had a Music program at her school. Anna passed the time by playing peek-a-boo with her program.
We had Cameron's team Christmas party one night this week. Santa made a surprise arrival on the fire station. We hadn't gone to see him yet this year, so I wasn't quite sure how the kids would all react. Presley was so excited and was such a big kid. David initially panicked, but then warmed up and sat on his lap.
Anna willingly walked up to Santa, then regretted that decision. Bless her heart- she really does love him from afar and especially on TV.
David's school Christmas party was this week. It was really cute. He had snack with his friends, found mittens scattered around the room...
 played with gingerbread playdough....
decorated a sugar cookie...
From there, we headed to Presley's Christmas party. She had a class party over lunch. It was really cute and I was so glad I could attend both parties and be with the kids. I love seeing them interact with their friends at school.
We had Christmas with the Weavers before they left town. The kids had a ball and loved opening all their presents. They are certainly spoiled by these two, but love them so much! We are so grateful they are here with us and that they loved our kids like they do.
Her most favorite gift on her list...she was so excited when she opened it and kept saying "I can't believe it, really, I can't believe it."
After we opened gifts, carolers stopped by our house. It was so nice and the kids were so excited.
We are so excited for Christmas to be here and have our family around to celebrate with!

Thanksgiving 2014

We had a great Thanksgiving this year!! The weather has been so nice and we've been playing outside a lot! The kids have really enjoyed it.
Eating some popcorn from a friend's birthday party while watching a movie. Don't tell the other two this is what she does while they nap...
Anna had a bad virus that knocked her down for a week. So glad we haven't had any major sickness this year- just a low fever and fatigue.
I made their Thanksgiving shirts this year and was excited to have them all matching!
Too bad Anna wasn't quite ready to be still for a picture...
She wanted to wear a backpack one morning while taking the others to school.
we had a movie night one weekend to watch Planes: Fire and Rescue.
we got in some bowling time last weekend too before Thanksgiving.
And the kids loved helping me make the Thanksgiving desserts.
They loved watching the parade this year and watched all 3 hours!! They really enjoyed seeing Santa at the end. Here is Anna waving to Dora.
And now enjoying her pie... we had a great night with some close friends who have become our family. We are so grateful to have such great friends to celebrate these big moments with.
These two have become very close lately... holding hands all the time.
Friday we decorated the house for Christmas. These two enjoyed popping the bubble wrap.
 Getting her hair blow-dried
Mr. Christmas right here. He asks for the tree to be lit all day long! He is so into Christmas this year, it's awesome to watch. Even Anna is walking around saying, Santa, nonstop.
 My beautiful girl posing...
And then there's this little one... she's a mess, and growing up so quickly. She is so excited about Santa too. And she loves pointing to Buddy the elf now that he's shown back up.  She loves to make us laugh and is so silly. She loves to read books and loves all her people, Mawk, Mantha, Pap, Dadda, Pres Pres, Day Day and Mama.
Anna was busy making me and David laugh when he was sick. She did a good job distracting him and being silly.
Buddy showed back up and has everyone on their best behavior. They were so excited to see him and talk to him throughout the day. So glad Christmas season is here!!

David 3 year update

We had David's 3 year checkup the week before Thanksgiving. He weighs 27lbs and is 37.25" tall. My  boy is doing so well and is growing so much. He's really enjoying school and is making his own friends. He doesn't get into the car giving me the details of his day like Presley, but he does tell me who got in trouble like she did. He still loves everything transportation, mostly construction vehicles now. He also loves the Planes: Fire and Rescue movie and is very into rescue vehicles, too. He loves to sing, any time of the day,you can hear him singing to himself. He loves to play with all his toys and entertains himself very easily with his trucks and other vehicles. He loves to watch his shows, including Paw Patrol, Chuggington, Doc McStuffins and any Christmas show right now.

He has grown so quickly from my little toddler to a big kid. I love watching him flourish and live life to the fullest. He goes nonstop from when he wakes up to bedtime. He is very into Christmas this year and loves to have the tree lit up. He loved hanging ornaments and hearing which were his. He plays so well with Presley and Anna, he particularly enjoys bossing Anna around while he is the big kid when Pres is at school. He loves walking Presley in to school and watching her walk through the playground.

He really enjoys playing Angry Birds on the ipad and is starting to play more games on Presley's leappad. He is also very into playing Army Men with Cameron and will hold their rifles right up to his eyes when he's pretending to shoot.  When you ask him his name, he says David Smith the Fourth- every time! It is so precious

This little boy lights up my life and I love getting to spend my days with him!! He keeps me on my toes for sure, but I would never trade my time with him for anything!!
Love you, David Miff!!
